Request my Proxmox lab
On-premise territory
No meter running by the hour, but no elasticity either. The cluster is finite, the quotas are real, and the local sheriff is called “available capacity”. You get in by request, never by self-service.
You don’t create anything yourself: the administrators set up the Pool, the VLAN and the permissions based on your request. A complete request goes out once; a vague one means three rounds of back-and-forth.
What you get
Section titled “What you get”A dedicated Pool, a dedicated VLAN, and an indicative quota of 8 vCPUs, 16 GB of RAM and 200 GB of disk. No direct public IP, no routing to production. Three months maximum.
A need that exceeds this quota is discussed with the administrators before the request. Details on the cluster and network rules: cluster, pool and quotas and network and security.
The line that carries the most weight is why on-premise rather than Azure. Internal network, latency, sovereignty, self-hosted solution: spell it out, otherwise the first reply will be “why not Azure?”.
Send the request
Section titled “Send the request”- 1
Describe your need
The form below prepares the request. The more precise it is, the fewer back-and-forths there will be.
- 2
The administrators set it up
Pool, dedicated VLAN and initial permissions on pve-lab-cluster: allow some processing time.
- 3
Build your machines
As soon as you get the confirmation, within the lab quota: 8 vCPU, 16 GB RAM, 200 GB disk.

- Proxmox lab request
Hello, I would like to request a Proxmox lab on the pve-lab-cluster cluster. Lab name: (to be completed) Purpose: (to be completed) Requested end date: (to be completed) Why on-premise rather than Azure: (to be completed) Estimated resources: (to be completed) I confirm: no client, personal or sensitive data, and no production use. Thanks,
Fill in the lab name, the purpose, the end date and the estimated resources: without them, the Pool cannot be sized.

Once the lab is created
Section titled “Once the lab is created”The administrators confirm that the Pool and the VLAN have been created. The lab is then yours: stay within the quota, keep the guest OSes up to date, delete snapshots no later than seven days after creating them, and never expose a VM directly to the Internet.
Summary in my responsibilities. MFA is mandatory to access the Proxmox interface.
